The Copper Valley Development Association (CVDA) serves the Copper River region, an area over 20,000 square miles with a population of only 2,997. CVDA functions as a partnership among public and private community interests to address natural resource and economic development opportunities. CVDA does this through information gathering and dissemination and by operating as a regional liaison. Partnering with state, federal, tribal, and private entities who work in the unorganized area, CVDA is focused on increasing self-sufficiency, business retention, natural resource development, and wise use of sustainable resources for the Copper Valley now and for the future.
Mission Statement
The mission of CVDA is to facilitate partnerships to improve the quality of life in Alaska’s Copper Valley through economic development, while fostering cultural and natural resource development through education and good stewardship.

The Copper River Census Area is over 2.5 times larger than the state of Vermont and just a little larger than the state of West Virginia.
