Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) 2024-2029
A Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy or “CEDS” is a regionally-driven, strategy-focused plan for economic development. It’s a roadmap to build capacity and guide the economic prosperity and resilience of a specific area or region. In Alaska, CEDS have been developed in many regions to identify the current state of the economy, address strategies for improvement, and provide a roadmap for future economic growth. A key aspect of a CEDS is the engagement of diverse stakeholders to ensure broad ownership and support for the plan. CEDS are developed at the regional level, involving various stakeholders such as local governments, businesses, and community organizations, and are typically updated every five years.
